Title:  Battle of Concord Crossing

Setting:  A "What If" action between portions of the Army of the Cumberland and the Army of Tennessee during the June 1863 Tullahoma campaign.

Rules:  "On to Richmond!"

Notes:  This will be a play test of the game that I will run at the Bayou Wars convention on June 11.

Game for May 7, 2022

Due to a lack of response the game has been postponed.


Location:  Little Strawberry House in Strawberry Park, Madison.  On Old Canton Road across the street from Madison-Ridgeland Academy.

Scale:  25mm

Title:  Defending the Redoubt

Setting:  Somewhere in Manchuria in 1905.  A 10,000-man Japanese division of 2 large infantry brigades supported by artillery and dragoons is advancing on a key river crossing.  A small Russian infantry brigade with artillery is defending in a large redoubt; they can be reinforced by 3 other small infantry brigades and Cossacks in the area (Russian forces also number 10,000 men). 

Rules:  Rules in Joe Morschauser’s 1962 classic How to Play War Games in Miniature.

Notes:  RSVP Steve Haller if you plan to come to Madison.  Lunch will be sandwich fixings. Start time is 10:00 a.m. We should be finished about 3:00 p.m.

April 16, 2022 Game

Location: Alex Kirk's house in Forest.  Address is 211 Greenview Drive.

Jackson metro attendees normally rendezvous at Jay's house by 9:30 to carpool/convoy to Alex's.  Contact Jay if you plan on doing that. 

Scale:  1:285/6mm 

Title:  Hedgerow Hell! 

Setting:  The Americans continue their slog through the Normandy hedgerows to capture St. Lo.  Elite German fallschirmjäger units bolster the German defenses.  

Rules:  Memoir '44 played using 1:285 microarmor and infantry.

Location:   Jay Stribling's house 

Scale:  15mm 

Title:  Battle of Lessie's Moor, 24 June 1643 

Setting:  After muttering over ale pots all winter, the supporters of the rightful King and the supporters of the Parliament have decided to punish their foes in Borsetshire.  The forces have gathered, many toasts have been drunk, and the matches are lit. 

Rules:  "For King and Parliament" 

Notes:  This is a fictitious scenario developed by the creators of the rule set.  The players generalship will be tested by the relative scarcity of general officers, divided commands, and close terrain.  We'll see several different types of foot and horse as well as some artillery for this second game using FKaP.
